Sherrod Brown is a Democratic Senator from Ohio. He was first elected to the Senate in 2006, by defeating incumbent Mike DeWine, see Ohio U.S. Senate election, 2006.
Before entering the Senate, Brown represented the 13th congressional district for the last 12 years, and before that he served two terms as Ohio Secretary of State. As a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives Brown signed onto the Resolution of Inquiry on Downing Street Memos, House Resolution 375, on July 27, 2005. [1] He also led Congressional opposition to both NAFTA and CAFTA. Brown regularly votes against Congressional pay raises, and has refused to accept the Congressional Health Plan until universal health care is available to every Ohioan.
