Rep. Susan A. Davis, born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on April 13, 1944 serves the 53rd Congressional District of California. Rep. Davis, a Democrat, was first elected to Congress in 2000.
Susan Davis served in the California Assembly for 3 terms before running for the 47th Congressional district in 2000. The incumbent, so-called "maverick" Republican Brian Bilbray, was one of several legislators that year who paid the ultimate price for their 1998 impeachment vote against then-President Bill Clinton. Davis has held the seat ever since. Her main interest is veterans' affairs.
