Bill Foster (December 1955) is a Democratic businessman and scientist from Illinois. He was elected to Congress in the 14th district, to fill the open seat left by Dennis Hastert's retirement.

Biography
Foster was born in 1955 in Madison, Wisconsin and studied at University of Wisconsin-Madison and received his Ph.D. in Physics from Harvard University in 1984. Foster was already a successful businessman since he was 19 years old. In 1984 Foster started to work for Fermilab and was involved in building particle accelerators [1] and created software for the Collider Detector, which was used for the discovery of the top quark. [2]
