- Buryat communist puppet leader Elbekdorji Rinchino ordered to Moscow. He is executed in 1937.

- February 24: Michael Harrington is born in St. Louis, Missouri.
- April 7: Northern Expedition proclaimed by the Kuomintang government of the Republic of China. One million troops are mobilized to crush warlords and intimidate Japanese imperialists in Shandong. Japanese troops execute unarmed provincial Foreign Affairs Commissioner and 16 of the staff in Jinan (Tsinan).
- May 6: Kuomintang General Chiang Kai-shek leaves Jinan.
- May 8: Japanese Gen. Fukuda deliveres 24 hour ultimatum requiring Kuomintang forces to withdraw from Shandong. Japan demands an apology, compensation adn punishment of the Chinese officers involved.
- June 3: Manchurian warlord Zhang Zuolin, a.k.a. the Old Marshall, is assassinated on the outskirts of his capital Mukden when his armored train is blown up on a bridge. His son, the morphine addicyed Young Marshall takes over the family business.
- June 14: Ernesto Che Guevara is born.
- July 4: Meyer Lansky is born in Grodno, Poland.
- October: New York Yankees win the World Series.
