Dan White (1946 - 1985)
Former city supervisor of San Francisco who in 1978 assasinated Mayor George Moscone and Supervisor Harvey Milk.
Following a controversial defense (the "Twinkie Defense") which claimed he could not control his actions because he had been depressed and binging on junk food, White was convicted of voluntary manslaughter and served five years at Soledad State Prison.
Two years after his parole he killed himself with carbon monoxide from his car's exhaust.
