- Comments: This is a Republican leaning district that gave racist George "Macacca" Allen 54% vs Jim Webb in the 2006 U.S. Senate campaign However Allen got a smaller percent of votes than Bush had just to years previously. At the Republican nominating convention, Whittman beat out 10 other challengers, including former Club for Growth president Paul Jost.
- Results: Wittman won by 63 - 35%.
