W. Todd Akin is a Republican Representative from the 2nd district of Missouri. He was first elected to Congress in 2000.
He was born in New York, N.Y. on July 5, 1947. He graduated from Worchester Polytechnic Institute in 1971, and received an Masters of Divinity from Covenant Seminary in St. Louis, MO in 1984. He was in the United States Army from 1971-1980. Akin was a member of the Missouri state house of representatives from 1988-2000.
He and his wife Lulli have six children.
