Background
Representative Sabo was born of Norwegian immigrant parents on a farm in Crosby, North Dakota on February 28, 1938. [1]
Rep. Sabo graduated from Augsburg College in Minneapolis with B.A. in 1959; and went on to graduate work at the University of Minnesota. [2]
Prior to his election to Congress, he served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 1961 - 1978 and had been Speaker of the Minnesota House of Representatives for six years and Minority Leader for four. He is the former President of the National Conference of State Legislatures and the National Legislative Conference. [3]
