Jo Ann Emerson

Jo Ann Emerson is a Republican Representative from the 8th district of Missouri. She was first elected to Congress in a 1996 special election to fill a seat left vacant by the death of her husband, former U.S. Rep. Bill Emerson. She was briefly registered as an Independent during her first year in Congress.
