Jerry Weller is an Illinois Republican, who represents the 11th District in Congress. He was first elected to this seat in 1994, and before that he served six years in the Illinois State House of Representatives. Weller is the Deputy Majority Whip, and he serves on the Ways and Means Committee and the House International Relations Committee (Western Hemisphere). Weller announced that he would retire at the end of the 2008 session.

Personal Life
- In November 2004, Weller married three-term Guatemalan Congresswoman Zury RĂos Montt. Her father, Gen. Efrain Rios Montt was the former dictator of Guatemala from 1982-83; he has been accused of genocide, and a Spanish judge has issued an international arrest warrant for him.
