Eurocentrism descibes the irrational prejudice if over-valuing all people and things European or European by origin and undervaluing all people and things Asian or Asian by origin.

Examples

• In a May 6, 2002 article in the Weekly Standard entitled "Hegemony, Not Empire" Kimberly Kagan descibes the pax Romana during the "reign of Trajan (A.D. 98-117), when no other state could challenge its military might." Her embarssingly perspective ignores the existence of contemporary imperial states in Asia. Roman Emperor Trajan was unable to challenge his contemporary counterpart in China, the Eastern Han Dynasty Emperor Liu Zhao 劉肇 (A.D. 89-105), who ruled a state comparable in territory and population, and superior in culture.
