Douglas County, Washington

Douglas County is in north-central Washington state.


The last male purebred Columbia Basin pygmy rabbit died in May, leaving only two female rabbits of the species. Living there since before the last ice age, the remnant population had survived into modern times only in Douglas County, Washington.
