Defense Policy Board

About the Board
A 30-member, appointed advisory group that consults with the Department of Defense. Established in 1985 to provide the Secretary of Defense, "with independent, informed advice and opinion concerning major matters of defense policy." Members are selected by and report to the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, a position currently held by Douglas Feith.
