Democrat Lloyd A. Doggett (hw) is the incumbent U.S. Representative.

  • Grant Rostig (R): 42,956 26% (cw) Rostig is a former Libertarian. (Scratch a Libertarian and you find a Republican every time, usually one who has not realized there are lots of votes to be had by joining a fundamentalist mega-church).
  • Barbara Cunningham (Libertarian): 6,933 4% cw
  • Brian Parrett (I): 3,594 2% cw

2004 election

  • Lloyd Doggett, incumbent, (D): 108,309; 67.60%
  • Rebecca Armendariz Klein (R): 49,252; 30.74%
  • James Werner (L): 2,656; 1.65%

2002 election

  • Chris Bell (D): 63,590; 54.75%
  • Tom Reiser (R): 50,041; 43.09%
  • Guy McLendon (L): 1,096; 0.94%
  • George Reiter (G): 1,399; 1.20%
