Carl Levin told the Detroit News on December 30 that hearings will be held on January 11, 18, and 25, 2007, focusing on the war in Iraq. If Bush does not state his strategy for Iraq on Wednesday, January 10th, the hearing will be postponed. Levin and McCain have jointly asked Defense Secretary Gates and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Peter Pace to appear at the first hearing, and outside experts are likely to appear at the second hearings. Gates and Pace were asked to be prepared to testify about the decision-making process for the latest strategy. (Thanks Terre at Daily Kos)
