Populism

Unlike liberalism which is associated with support for the economically struggling and a principled approach to social issues rooted in individual freedom, populism is an ideology that supports both helping the vast majority who are economically less well off and taking majoritarian views on social issues even if they are not necessarily principled.

A populist, for example, would have no difficulty with "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance, or opposing flag burning, while a liberal would have great difficulties with these ideas as infringements on the principles found in the 1st Amendment. But, both liberals and populists would likely support tax cuts for the working class.
