Matt Blunt (R) is the Governor of Missouri. He was elected in 2004, but he decided not to run for re-election in 2008.

Prior to his election as governor, Matt Blunt served as an active duty Naval Officer, as a member of the Missouri General Assembly (District 139) and as Missouri’s Secretary of State.

He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1993, and later he served in Afghanistan for six months in Operation Enduring Freedom.

Blunt and his wife Melanie have one young child.
