Macon County is a county in southern Georgia.

On January 20, 2006, rioting erupted in Marshallville, Georgia following the death of Clarence Walker, an African-Ameican, in police custody. Approximately 100 of the town's residents burned the house of Police Chief Stephen J. Stewart in anger. Stewart is white.
