Background

Greg Walden is the Oregon Congressional representative for District 2 the House of Representatives

Republican. Born January 10, 1957. University of Oregon, B.S. Small Business owner, Columbia Gorge Broadcasters. He and his wife, Mylene, have one child. Press Secretary and Chief of Staff, Congressman Denny Smith, 1981-1987; Board of Directors, Oregon Health Sciences Foundation; Director, Columbia River Bancorp.

Elected to Oregon House of Representatives, 1988; served as House Majority Leader, 1991-93; appointed to Oregon Senate, 1995; served as Assistant Majority Leader.


Elected to Congress, 1998; reelected 2000, 2002 and 2004; Member, Energy and Commerce Committee, and Resources Committee. Term expires 2005.

He also supported and appeared in several direct mail pieces in support of the anti-Gay Measure 36 ballot initiative banning same-gender marriage.
