The Geneva Conventions are international treaties that obligate signatory states and their military personnel to standards of conduct during wartime.


First Geneva Convention (1864)

Second Geneva Convention (1906)

Third Geneva Convention (1929)

Fourth Geneva Convention (1949)

1949 Geneva Conventions

The first three conventions were revised in 1949 and the fourth added. All were then ratified in 1949.
