House Bill 43

Voting Systems; provides additional requirement for Dept. of State approval of certain voting systems; requires production of paper record meeting specified criteria; requires preservation of & access to such record; provides for use of such record in recount of certain elections. Amends 101.5606. EFFECTIVE DATE: 07/01/2007.

House Bill 213

Trust in Elections Act; provides that removal of paper record from polling places in certain circumstances is felony; requires electronic voting systems to produce voter-verifiable paper record; revises provision re discrepancies between overall election returns & counters of precinct tabulators involving touchscreen ballots, etc. Amends 101.295,.5606, 102.141. EFFECTIVE DATE: 07/01/2007.

House Bill 377

Voting Systems; requires electronic or electromechanical voting systems to produce paper record of votes; provides for preservation of paper records of votes; provides that paper records are true & correct records of votes cast; requires Secretary of State to certify all hardware & software used in said voting systems & to ensure that election officials are given specified instructions re people having disability, etc. Amends Ch. 101. EFFECTIVE DATE: 07/01/2007.

Senate Bill 342

Voting Systems [LPCC]; requires that voting systems approved by Dept. of State allow voter to correct error in voting; requires that such systems produce paper record, be furnished with illumination, be equipped with audio-stimulus voting feature, & include sip-and-puff switch attachment. Amends 101.5606. EFFECTIVE DATE: 01/01/2008.

Senate Bill 462

Electronic Voting Systems [LPCC]; requires each electronic voting system in state to produce voter-verified paper record that is suitable for manual audit; requires that voter be permitted to verify correctness of paper ballot; requires said system to produce permanent paper record that is available for correction of any error by voter & preserved for later use in manual audit, etc. Creates 101.56085. EFFECTIVE DATE: Upon becoming law.
