Robert Wexler resigned on January 3, 2010 to become president of the Center for Middle East Peace and Economic Cooperation. Wexler represented Florida's 19th congressional district from 1997 until his resignation on 3 January 2010. Ted Deutch, a former Florida state senator, won a special election was held on April 13, 2010 to fill Wexler's remaining term. Rep. Ted Deutch was reelected in November 2010.
