Bharatiya Janata Party, the "Indian National Party", most often referred to by its acronym as the BJP is one of the two major national political parties in India.

In his best selling book The Future of Freedom author Fareed Zakaria describes the BJP's political project as a "policy of “Hinduizing” India, which has meant rewriting history texts to downplay or remove references to Muslims and other minorities, establishing departments of astrology at major universities, and encouraging the use of Hindu religious symbols in public settings.” (pp. 108-109)
