From dKosopedia

Dr. Tom Hayhurst is the Democratic candidate who lost the 2006 general election for the Third Congressional District of Indiana 3rd District to the incumbent, see Indiana U.S. House election, 2006.

Dr. Tom Hayhurst has practiced medicine for 30 years in his part of Indiana. He co-founded the Matthew 25 Health & Dental Clinic's free pulmonary clinic. And each week he works at the Allen County Tuberculosis Clinic. Tom and his wife Judy are lifelong residents of the 3rd district. He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam era, but being one of the Fighting Dems wasn't enough in the uber-conservative Third District.
