The American Spectator

From dKosopedia

The American Spectator is a right-wing monthly magazine that specializes in publishing sensational "exposés" and scandals involving Democratic politicians. It was created and it is financed by Richard Mellon Scaife, the billionaire and "godfather" of funding most of the right-wing apparatus.

The American Spectator was a key player in the kind of reporting that influenced the investigations and eventual impeachment hearings against President Bill Clinton. Most of these stories were later demonstrated to be false.

It was within this publication, that a working group was formed called the "Arkansas Project", whose specific aim was to locate and create dirt on the Clintons in order to smear them, in hopes of removing President Bill Clinton from office.
