Steve Cohen

From dKosopedia

Steve Cohen (D) represents Tennessee's 9th district in the U.S. House. He was first elected to Congress in 2006, to fill the open seat vacated by Harold Ford, Jr..

He was striken with polio as a child, and is dedicated to health care issues. He was a Shelby County Commissioner, and then spent 24 years in the Tennessee State Senate, district 30.

Interesting fact: Cohen, along with Bob Brady (D-PA) and Lloyd Doggett (D-TX) is one of the few whites representing a majority-minority district.
