Secretary of Labor

The current Secretary of Labor is Elaine Chao.
She was sworn in on January 29, 2001 and her term ends on January 20, 2009.
Upon confirmation from the Senate, Hilda L. Solis will become the 25th Secretary of Labor under President-Elect Barack Obama.
