Don't "whitewash" (no pun intended) the Exalted Cyclops' racist history.

Why only cut and paste selected, pro-Kleagle Byrd, portions of the Wikipedia entry? (An entry that has been through months of edit wars and has finally been deemed NPOV, by the way). The whitewashing of the Exalted Cyclops' past is astonishing. This is nothing more than a angry left circle jerk site, not a serious political encyclopedia, if you're content to post screeds on "racist" Republicans and then selectively "fix intelligence" around Kleagle Byrd's KKK past (and present?).

Recent Racial Controversies

Considering Byrd's past membership in the KKK and his participation in the filibuster of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, some civil rights organizations and conservatives contend that Byrd's opposition to President George H. W. Bush's nomination of Clarence Thomas to the U.S. Supreme Court in 1991 to replace Thurgood Marshall -- making Byrd the only senator to have opposed the nomination of both of the only two black Supreme Court justices – and Byrd's 2004 opposition to some of George W. Bush's judicial and cabinet nominees who are black, notably Federal Judge Janice Rogers Brown and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, was motivated by racism. The Congress of Racial Equality (CORE), a civil rights organization, has stated that Byrd's hold on Rice's nomination was "racist." [1]. Despite Bugmenow's claim of whitewashing, section 1.2 of the article addresses Byrd's past history with the Klan. This paragraph's central thesis hinges on the phrase "some civil rights organizations and conservatives contend that".

According to the Main Page, dkosopedia adopts a "left/progressive/liberal/Democratic" point of view (unlike Wikipedia, for example); accordingly, a personal attack based on the mere contention of conservatives isn't appropriate for the article.
