Richard Rowland

Richard O. Rowland, is the President and founder of Grassroot Institute of Hawaii and current member of the Small Business Hawaii Board of Directors. Rowland ran unsuccessfully twice as candidate for US Senate and unsuccessfully once for Honolulu City Council. Rowland serves on the Aiea Neighborhood Board and the Board of Directors of the Aiea-Pearl City Business Association.

Military and Business Background
Rowland came to Hawaii in 1971 as a key officer on the United States Pacific Command (PACOM) staff. Retiring as a Colonel in 1975, he was a financial representative with Northwestern Mutual for 26 years.

Richard O. Rowland, a graduate of Texas A&M University (BS) and Columbia University (MA).
Award
SBH Small Business Person of the Year (1997).
