Ray LaHood

Ray LaHood is the Republican representative for the 18th congressional district of Illinois. He was first elected to Congress in 1994; before that he served one term in the Illinois state house from 1982-1983.

In 2007 LaHood declared that the Democrat lead 110th Congress has been successful. "They’ve had a pretty strong quarter… They can send their members home crowing about their accomplishments, and they’ve done it in a bipartisan way, which is exactly what they promised to do."[1]

He also announced that he will retire in 2008. [2]
