J. Randy Forbes is a Republican Representative from the 4th district of Virginia. He was first elected to Congress in a 2001 special election. He was a member of the Virginia state house of delegates from 1989-1997, and a member of the Virginia state senate from 1997-2001.
Randy attends Great Bridge Baptist Church, where he has taught adult Sunday school for over 20 years. He was born and raised in Chesapeake, Virginia where he still resides with his wife Shirley. He and Shirley have been married since 1978 and have four children.
