Philip D. Zelikow

Philip David Zelikow has been a foreign policy advisor for several Republican administrations. From February 2005 to early 2007, he was Counselor of the United States Department of State, and one of Condoleezza Rice's closest advisors. (He planned to resign at the end of 2006 - source: [ABCNews, Nov. 27, 2006).

Zelikow is currently a senior advisor at Barbour Griffith & Rogers, a lobbying firm. One of their clients is former Iraqi Prime Minister Ayad Allawi, who has paid them to help him overthrow the current elected Prime Minister Maliki.

During the first term of President George W. Bush Zelikow held many posts, including the executive director of the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States. He was also the Director of the Miller Center for Public Affairs at the University of Virginia. He was a member of the Presidents Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board.

During the administration of President George H.W. Bush he was on the National Security Council staff.
