Paul Ryan is the Republican congressman from the 1st district of Wisconsin. He was first elected to Congress in 1998. Before that he had worked on the staffs of Sen. Robert Kastin and Sen. Sam Brownback.
He and his wife Janna have three children, and they are members of St. John Vianney’s Parish.
