Operation Agatha

Operation Agatha (sometimes referred to as Black Sabbath) was a series of arrests made in the British Mandate of Palestine on Saturday, June 29, 1946. Approximately 2700 terror suspects were taken into custody in response to a number of attacks against British Army by Zionist terrorist units, including Haganah, Irgun and Lehi Group. The terrorist bombing of the King David Hotel is generally regarded as retaliation for Operation Agatha.
