Michael Brown

From dKosopedia

Michael Brown is the former Republican Director of FEMA. He is 52.

Since his resignation Brown has become a thorn in the side of the second Bush administration by making repeated revelations about its decision-making during the Katrina Hurricane Disaster. That event revealed conservative Republican incomptence equalled only by its management of the War in Iraq.

On January 19, 2007 Brown told students at metropolitan College in New York: "Unbeknownst to me, certain people in the White House were thinking, 'We had to federalize Louisiana because she's a white, female Democratic governor, and we have a chance to rub her nose in it. 'We can't do it to Haley (Barbour) because Haley's a white male Republican governor. And we can't do a thing to him. So we're just gonna federalize Louisiana.'" Source: Nahal Toosi. "Brown: Politics Played Role in Katrina." Associated Press. January 20, 2007.

Second Bush White House spokesperson Eryn Witcher described Brown statements as false.

Background

Before his appointment to that post he was a private practice attorney from 1987-2001 and from his assessments regarding last week’s major national dead American disaster, he has had NO formal training whatsoever.
