Max Burns

From dKosopedia

Max Burns is a Georgia Republican who served one term in Congress (2003-2004). He was elected in the 2002 GOP sweep of Georgia, while running against a fatally flawed candidate (Champ Walker, Jr.) in a heavily gerrymandered Dem-favored district. Burns lost his re-election campaign in 2004, becoming one of only two Republican House incumbents to lose in that cycle.

In 2006, he lost a rematch against John Barrow, the man who beat him in 2004, see Georgia U.S. House election, 2006.

He is now a professor at North Georgia College & State University. (Source: Politics1.com, July 2, 2007).
