Ultra-right winger who represents the 4th Congressional District of Colorado. She has little to say on any pressing national issues, but does spend as much time as humanly possible on the Federal Marriage Amendment, of which she is a leading advocate and co-sponsor.
Her general election opponent in 2004 was former CO Senate Democratic leader Stan Matsunaka. Matsunaka lost to by double digits to Musgrave in 2002, but only lost by six points in 2004 despite being outspent by millions of dollars.
After her narrow victory in 2004, the National Republican Congressional Committee included her on a list of most vulnerable incumbents. Loveland Republican Bill Kaufman announced in June 2005 intention to oppose Musgrave in the primaries.
Musgrave was reeelected in 2006, defeating CO State Representative Angie Paccione (D), and former Ronald Reagan appointee Eric Eidsness (Reform) of Fort Collins. (see Colorado U.S. House election, 2006)
