Loretta Sanchez, born in Lynwood, California on January 7, 1960, serves California's 47th Congressional District. Rep. Loretta Sanchez, a Democrat, won this seat in 1996 by defeating Republican incumbent Bob Dornan. In 2002, her sister Linda Sanchez was also elected to Congress, making them the first sisters to serve together in the U.S. House.
