Linda Stender

Linda Stender is a Democratic state legislator from New Jersey, where she has championed progressive causes. She is serving her third term in the state legislature, and before that she was on the Union County Board of Freeholders from 1994 to 2001. Stender was elected to a four-year term as Mayor of Fanwood in 1991 and served on the Fanwood Borough Council from 1988 through 1990. She earned a bachelor's degree at The American University in Washington, D.C. She and her husband Richard have lived in Fanwood for 28 years and have three children.

She ran for Congress in the 7th District, but lost to the incumbent, see New Jersey U.S. House election, 2006.
