Karen Carter

Karen Carter is a Louisiana State Rep. who ran for Congress in the second district, but she lost the runoff election to the incumbent, see Louisiana U.S. House election, 2006. The Louisiana Democratic party endorsed her over the incumbent, William J. Jefferson (D).
She graduated from Howard University and the Tulane School of Law. She was first elected to the State House in 2000.
