Joyce Schulte

From dKosopedia

Joyce Schulte is a Democratic educator from Iowa. She was the Democratic nominee for Congress in the Fifth District in 2004 and 2006, but lost both times, see Iowa Federal elections, 2006. Born and raised on a farm in Missouri, Joyce was widowed at age 31 and left to raise two young sons while pursuing an education. She completed an impressive education including pastoral studies, a bachelor's degree in general studies and a masters in education.

Joyce's studies and life experience led her to a diverse work and volunteer history that has included the mental health field, education and family farming. Joyce is currently Director of the Student Support Services program at Southwestern Community College in Creston, where she sees on a daily basis how government funding and policies can affect lives.

Joyce has two grown sons, one of whom is a Major in the Air Force; she also has one grand-daughter.
