James T. Walsh is a Republican representative from the 25th district of New York. He was first elected to Congress in 1988, after serving on the Syracuse, NY city council from 1977-1988. He also served in the Peace Corps from 1970-1972. Walsh (R) announced on January 24, 2008 that he will not seek re-election to an eleventh term.

He and his wife DeDe have three children, and are parishioners of Most Holy Rosary Church. He is the son of former U.S. Rep. William F. Walsh.
