James Jeffords

James Jeffords is a former U.S. Senator from Vermont. He switched parties in 2001, from Republican to Independent, a move which briefly gave the Democrats control of the Senate until the 2002 elections. He retired from the Senate in 2006, and he was replaced by Bernie Sanders.
