Hank Johnson

Hank Johnson represents Georgia’s Fourth Congressional District, which includes most of three metro counties – DeKalb, Rockdale and portions of South Gwinnett. He was elected to the U.S. House in 2006.

Johnson defeated incumbent Cynthia McKinney in the prinary runoff election.

Hank Johnson, who served two terms as a County Commissioner, represented DeKalb County’s Fifth Commission district, which includes the southern and eastern parts of the county bordering Rockdale, Henry and Fulton.

An attorney, Johnson has practiced criminal and civil law in Decatur for 25 years. A partner with Johnson & Johnson Law Group LLC, he is a previous Associate Judge of the Magistrate Court for DeKalb County.

A graduate of Clark College (Clark Atlanta University) and Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law, Johnson is is married to Attorney Mereda Davis Johnson. They have two children, Randi and Alex.

Johnson is also one of the first two Buddhists to serve in Congress (the other is Mazie Hirono).
