Henry Cuellar
From dKosopedia
Henry Cuellar (D) is the Representative from Texas' 28th District.
Although he is registered as a Democrat, Cuellar is an ally of Texas Governor Rick Perry, for whom he served as Secretary of State. He campaigned for Perry in 2002, against Democratic nominee Tony Sanchez.
On January 18, 2006, he was endorsed by the far-right Club for Growth. Cuellar's support for the Central America Free Trade Agreement, repealing the estate tax and reforming the public-school system were the reasons for the Club's endorsement.
Cuellar beat Ciro D. Rodriguez by 203 votes in the 2004 primary after Tom DeLay's redistricting put Cuellar's Laredo home out of Henry Bonilla's district and into Rodriguez's.
Despite what some Kossacks will say, Cuellar is not a conservative on everything. His voting record matches that of many conservative Blue Dog Democrats (although Cuellar's district is more Democratic than many of theirs).
