Henry Bonilla is a former Republican Representative from Texas, where he once represented the 23rd district. He was first elected to Congress in 1992, and he served until 2006, when he lost a special election to Ciro D. Rodriguez, see Texas U.S. House election, 2006.

Bonilla was appointed to be U.S. Ambassador to the Organization of American States (OAS) in March 2007.

Fun Facts!

• Bonilla had a "Zoe Baird problem," i.e. an undocumented British nanny. This resulted in a 1993 Justice Department investigation, that was ultimately dropped. (Reference: Roll Call "Heard on the Hill", 10/31/94)
