Grover Norquist

From dKosopedia

Contents

Background

Grover Norquist is the leader of several disturbing movements and serves as President of Americans for Tax Reform. Not only is he on a crusade to deify Ronald Reagan; he is one of the chief archiects of movement conservatism. Norquist is the one who famously said both "Bi-partisanship is another word for date rape" and "I'm not in favor of abolishing the government. I just want to shrink it down to the size where we can drown it in the bathtub."

Movement conservatives are dedicated to undoing 75 years of Democratic progressivism and social programs. They are all about "changing the tone"--Norquist has also said he wants to promote bitter partisanship in government of all levels.

In short, he is quite evil. Amy from BlogAmY has more.

Norquist was a founding member of the Islamic Institute, a group which sucessfully sought Muslim support for President Bush's 2000 election campaign. This group has ties to Saudi-financed radical Islamic "charities" in the US. (Source: House of Bush, House of Saud, by Craig Unger, p.202)
