God
From dKosopedia
When capitalized and in a singular, the word refers to a single supreme being or force responsible for the creation of the universe or having emerged as consciousness in the universe.
Some religions recognize multiple gods, some religions recognize none.
Monotheists feel there is only one god.
Deism holds that God exists but does not intervene in earthly matters.
Some Jews, Christians and Muslims hold that God once acted in history but does so no longer.
Other Jews, Christians and Muslims insist that God continues to act in history.
Some even claim that God acts in history with a moral purpose that they are capable of recognizing.
In effect, they feel that they are capable of recognizing the moral purposes of a being unbound by the physical laws of the universe in either space or time.
In some religious traditions such a claim would be understood as an example of the sin of pride.
