Eric Boswell was appointed as Assistant Deputy Director for Security, Office of the Deputy Director of National Intelligence for Management on Oct. 31, 2005.
Mr. Boswell is responsible for developing clear, uniform, Intelligence Community-wide security standards and practices governing such issues as access to facilities, electronic access to systems and databases, and clearance of personnel. Ambassador Boswell has held senior management and security positions in the United States Department of State and the United Nations system. A retired Foreign Service Officer, he most recently worked as Director of Administration at the Pan American Health Organization, a specialized agency of the United Nations, from 1998 to 2005. Prior to that, he served as Assistant Secretary of State for Diplomatic Security and Director of the Office of Foreign Missions from 1996 to 1998. He was Senior Advisor for Security Change Management at the United Nations in New York during 2004. Ambassador Boswell graduated from Stanford University and served in the U.S. Army.
