Ellen Simon

Ellen Simon (D) ran for Congress in the 1st District, see Arizona U.S. House election, 2006, but lost to the incumbent. Simon has invested $525,000 of her own money in her campaign. An Sidona attorney, whose practice has emphasized employee protection law, Simon previously worked in Cleveland.
After graduating from Brandeis University, Ellen attended Suffolk University Law School, going on to serve as a law clerk for a federal judge on the United States District Court. Throughout her 25-year legal career, Ellen won numerous landmark rulings upholding the rights of working people. Ellen has been named in The Best Lawyers in America.
Simon's parents are Holocaust survivors. She has two children and lives in Sedona, Arizona with her husband.
Her desperate Republican opponent, one Rick Renzi, has attempted to smear Simon by linking her with the Boston ACLU's limited defense of the free speech rights of NAMBLA.
